Apps to watch NFL live

If you’re like me and wait all year for the NFL to return, you know how frustrating it can be to try to find a reliable place to watch games live, without freezing, without delays, and preferably with quality commentary.

I’ve tried everything: pirated streams that feel like a minefield of viruses, closed channels that constantly change their schedules, and even websites that promise broadcasts but deliver nothing but headaches.

After many Sundays (and some Monday mornings) of trial and error, I finally found the three apps that are truly worth using to watch the NFL season live, with quality and without complications.

Each of them has its advantages, its differences, and, of course, its prices, but I’ll tell you everything based on my real experience, as a fan who doesn’t miss a touchdown.

NFL+

The first on the list, and perhaps the most obvious for hardcore fans of the league, is NFL+.

This is the official service of the NFL itself and, honestly, it’s one of the most comprehensive I’ve ever used.

When I first signed up, I was still a bit hesitant.

I wondered, “Will they really broadcast all the games? Or will there be those region restrictions?”

To my surprise, the international version of NFL+ (which here in Brazil can be bundled with NFL Game Pass, depending on the season) offers every game from the regular season, playoffs, and even the Super Bowl, live and on demand.

So, if I missed a game on Sunday, I can easily rewatch it on Monday.

The app’s layout is easy and straightforward, and it works well on both mobile and Smart TV.

Another thing that won me over was the exclusive content: it has behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, tactical analysis, player microphones (the famous “Mic’d Up”), and even original documentaries from NFL Films.

For those who are more than just spectators and want to immerse themselves in the world of the league, it’s a real treat.

The only caveat is the price.

It’s not the cheapest service, especially if you want the version with all the premium features.

But if you truly follow the season from start to finish, it’s worth every penny.

And, between you and me, being able to watch live, with official commentary and top-notch image quality, makes all the difference.

Star+ (ESPN)

If you already have Star+ at home, know that it’s one of the best ways to follow the NFL.

ESPN holds the league’s broadcast rights here in Brazil, and virtually all major games are broadcast there, including Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, and Thursday Night Football.

Not to mention the playoffs and, of course, the Super Bowl.

What I like most about Star+ is the Portuguese commentary, done by professionals who truly know the game.

Nothing against American commentators (sometimes I even prefer them), but there are times when watching a game with contextualized commentary for a Brazilian audience is very helpful, especially for those still learning the rules or the ins and outs of the plays.

Another plus: you can watch not only on your phone or tablet, but also on your TV, laptop, console, and even use Chromecast if you want to stream directly to the big screen.

The streaming quality is excellent, and I rarely experienced connection issues or freezing, even during high-traffic games like the playoffs.

In addition to the NFL, Star+ also provides access to other ESPN sports, such as the NBA, MLB, NHL, and even European football, so the cost-benefit ratio is quite attractive if you enjoy sports in general.

Oh, and for those who enjoy extra content, Star+ also has several debate programs, analysis, highlights, and even full game replays.

A true sports hub that goes far beyond the NFL, but perfectly serves those who want to watch the league live with quality and convenience.

دازن

Now comes an app that really surprised me: DAZN.

Many people still associate DAZN only with boxing, fighting, or alternative football, but recently they have been focusing heavily on the American market and, consequently, the NFL.

The first thing I need to say is: DAZN doesn’t broadcast every NFL game live in Brazil, at least not in the same way as NFL+ or Star+.

However, it does offer special programming, with content like NFL RedZone, which is one of the most insane and exciting formats for watching an entire NFL round.

It’s the kind of channel that jumps from game to game, showing only the decisive moments, especially plays inside the red zone (the final 20-yard area).

In other words, if you want constant excitement, this format is simply addictive.

Furthermore, DAZN often has highlights, analysis, and documentaries.

It’s best suited for those who don’t have time to watch full games but want to stay up to date with everything happening in the league.

Another advantage of DAZN is that it works really well on weaker connections. I’ve used it while traveling, with mobile internet, and I was able to watch without any hiccups.

The form is also very user-friendly, and the app runs smoothly on

virtually any device.

The subscription is mid-priced, and if you’re a fan of various sports, it might be a great complement to other services.

If your focus is solely on the NFL, it might not be your main option, but as a second app to follow RedZone and behind-the-scenes action, it’s definitely worth it.

Which is more worthwhile?

This is the question I get most from my friends when I talk about watching the NFL on my phone or on TV: which of these three is best? The truth is, it depends on your type of fan.

If you’re a loyal fan, who follows your team every week, who never misses a game, and who even wants to watch preseason practices, NFL+ (or Game Pass) is simply unbeatable.

It’s tailor-made for you.

It has everything, with the best possible quality, straight from the official source.

Now, if you want to follow the most important games of the week, support the Patriots, Cowboys, Chiefs, or any other highly visible team, and enjoy Portuguese-language commentary, with well-crafted commentary and that traditional sports channel vibe, Star+ with ESPN delivers.

Besides the NFL, you also get a ton of other quality sports as a bonus.

On the other hand, if you enjoy condensed action, want to see the most impactful plays from every game without wasting time, and still have access to exclusive content and behind-the-scenes footage, DAZN with NFL RedZone could be the ideal choice.

It serves as a “second screen,” or as the perfect companion for those who want to stay up-to-date without having to watch every full game.
